Who We Are
Chervyn Lee
Hi there! I’m Chervyn!
As a young girl, I was always obsessed with animals, whether it was feeding the street cats or asking to hold and feed my neighbor’s guinea pigs. I was definitely one of those kids who would fall for a van full of puppies. In high school, I took animal science classes and was able to interact and take care of the different farm animals including goats and rabbits. So when my sister snuck a puppy home when I was 16, it was second nature to me to spend my time caring for, training, and walking him. When I was in college I would volunteer at the animal shelter on weekends, walking them to help get that nervous energy out, and bathing them to get them ready for adoption events. I didn’t realize till now that all these acts of love would bring me to doing something more fulfilling than a job that I got from a college degree.
I had spent so much time around animals that when I moved to Texas after college and went years without an animal in my life, I knew something was missing in my life. Cut to 2015. As soon as I moved to Washington and found a house to rent, I signed up for Rover. I started boarding and walking dogs, and shortly after I realized loving on dogs part time was not enough. I ended up getting Nash, my bluetick coonhound. It was because of Nash that in 2018 I started Happy Hounds. Although I took care of dogs like they were my own, I found out quickly that not all Rover sitters do the same. After multiple, horrible incidents with rover sitters (neglect, lies, and emergency surgery), I decided to break away from the company. I couldn’t understand how anyone could treat animals in such a way, and how a company could ALLOW this to happen. Sadly Rover is just a quick side hustle for some people. To me, animals are my passion. Being able to give owners the peace of mind to go on vacation knowing that their pet and family member is not just fed, but loved, is a true joy for me because I know the stress of leaving your pet with a stranger, and coming back to a nightmare.
Today I have the privilege of having three dogs of my own, and a network of animal clients who I have the joy of walking and taking into my own home. I’ve had experience with a huge array of dogs, including reactive dogs, skittish dogs, and older dogs with special needs. And with the re-brand to Hidden Grove Pet Care, comes partnering up with someone I trust with my own pets, and the ability to expand the type of care I want to give to animals to more deserving families.
Marilyn Hime
Hi, I'm Marilyn!
My love for animals started at a very young age with our first family dog, a Dalmatian named Freckles. Like many kids in the 90s, I was completely obsessed with 101 Dalmatians. When I was about five years old, I would sit Freckles in my lap while I watched my favorite movie over and over again. Looking back, he was the first dog who taught me just how rewarding it is to love and care for an animal. The bond we shared sparked a lifelong passion that continues to shape who I am today.
As a child, I was always the one bringing home new pets and trying to convince my family that we had room for just one more. Animals have been a constant part of my life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. When I was 17, I got my first dog of my own, and I've shared my life with pets ever since.
Today, my family includes three dogs and a cat, each with their own unique personalities, preferences, and quirks. Living with a variety of pets has taught me that no two animals are the same. Some are outgoing and adventurous, while others are shy and need time to warm up. One of my favorite parts of working with animals is getting to know them as individuals. I love learning what makes them feel safe, what excites them, and how to earn their trust and friendship.
My passion for animals extends beyond my own pets. Over the years, I've volunteered at animal shelters, helping care for animals while they waited for their forever homes. Those experiences taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and understanding, especially when working with animals who may be scared, stressed, or adjusting to new situations.
If you invite me to a house party, there's a good chance you'll find me hanging out with the pets instead of the people. Whether it's tossing a ball for a dog, coaxing a shy cat out from under a bed, or making friends with a senior pet who just wants a quiet companion, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals of all kinds.
For me, pet care is much more than a service—it's something I truly love. I understand the trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you complete peace of mind. It is a privilege to care for your pets, and I look forward to becoming one of their trusted friends.
